My Biography

Joined Kaiser Permanente Medical Group: 1999

My background

I was born in Manchester, Connecticut on January 29, 1971 to my wonderful parents, Roland and Wendy Dilda. My sister Amy came along in 1974- and as a family we were soon off on many adventures. We lived all over the world- including Iran, England, France, Canada, and the United States. It was an exciting way to grow up but now I am happily settled in California.

My education

I received a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University in 1992. I then graduated from The Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1996. Finally, I finished my Emergency Medicine residency at MCP/Hahnemann in Philadelphia in 1999. I have been working at Kaiser South San Francisco ever since.

My practice philosophy

I love taking care of patients. I know that most days that end up in an emergency department are not likely to be remembered fondly, but I strive to make the experience as pleasant and comfortable as possible for our patients and their family members. Providing outstanding clinical care will always be my number one priority, but caring for my patients’ mental well-being is also of the utmost importance to me.

My outside interests

Believe it or not, I do have a life outside the hospital. I have been an expedition doctor on climbs in Tibet/Nepal. I have climbed to the summit of several mountains in the States including Mounts Rainier, Hood, and Shasta. I love to travel, ski, ice climb and mountain bike. I also love good food and wine and am always looking for a new restaurant recommendation. During the fall, you can find me watching the best football team in the Bay Area, the California Golden Bears!! Nothing, however, beats quality time with my family and friends.

Our Department

The Emergency Department provides medical care to all patients in need of immediate attention. Our skilled and caring team includes physicians, registered nurses and technicians, all with special training in emergency medicine.

What to Expect

A registered nurse will assess your medical needs and assign you to a treatment team as quickly as possible. Top priority is given to individuals with life-threatening conditions, and those who arrive by ambulance. Patients with less serious conditions are seen as soon as possible. To avoid long waiting times, non-emergency problems are better served in the Minor Injury Clinic, Adult Medicine, Ob/Gyn, Pediatrics, or appropriate specialty departments. Call 650-742-2100 to schedule an appointment.

Co-payment for services is expected at the time of treatment. The level of your co-payment is determined by the health plan. The emergency department does not determine how much co-payment you will pay, although we are obligated to ask for it. We strive to deliver the same excellent care and service to all of our patients regardless of the level of their co-payment or their ability to pay.

Our goal is provide quality care to all patients in the Emergency Department. Thank you for choosing Kaiser Permanente.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
