How to Use My Home Page...

My Biography

I have a long-term association with Kaiser Permanente. Both of my children were born here at the San Francisco Medical Center, and I’ve been a member for many years. I even completed part of my nurse training here.

I began my career here as an on-call nurse, and took note of the supportive milieu in which I worked. My work experience here has always been that divisions didn’t exist much between staff; we were all part of the same committed, patient-focused team, and it was not difficult to make the decision to join the team.

Kaiser’s comprehensive health care model affords our members ready access to providers. Health Connect, our electronic charting tool, has been a real boon for the medical center. Health Connect enables me to access a patient’s full medical history in an instant. Providers can also communicate with one another through Health Connect’s messaging feature. In our department, we enjoy a collaborative atmosphere where each discipline is honored, respected, and valued. Working in this setting continues to improve my professional and personal attitude towards multidisciplinary care.

The patients seen in our clinic come from varying backgrounds, each and every one presenting unique and different chronic pain experiences. I have been with the clinic for over eight years, and it continues to be my experience that no matter what the nature of the pain has been, the majority of the patients come away being helped by one of our reconditioning programs.

In addition to my work in the clinic, I sit on the Clinical Ladder for Nursing Committee. The committee oversees nursing educational and advancement opportunities, and recognizes nurses’ increasing levels of excellence in clinical practice, teaching ability, and leadership.

During my spare time, I enjoy watching a good movie, especially foreign films. I also enjoy hiking, walking, playing mah jong with family and friends. I also make sure I carve out time to volunteer at my local YMCA. I am committed to a regular Qi Gong and meditation practice, and I go to a gym for cardiovascular and strength training.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
