Welcome to My Home Page!
As a licensed psychologist in California since 1986, I have been providing clinical treatment to people of diverse backgrounds with a wide variety of psychological issues and psychiatric diagnoses. During my clinical training and the years since I became licensed, I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings and have worked with people of all ages.
During my professional career, I have had extensive experience in providing individual and group psychotherapy and psychological assessment. I have treated veterans in a Veterans Administration psychiatric hospital and adults and geriatric patients in a state hospital setting. My outpatient work has included psychotherapy and psychological assessment with children, adolescents, and adults in county mental health and private practice settings.
For six years at my previous position as a Psychologist at the Kaiser Permanente Antioch Mental Health clinic, I treated adults using a brief therapy model and encouraged them to learn and practice cognitive behavioral techniques, stress management and relaxation techniques, and emotional regulation and distress tolerance skills. I facilitated a group therapy for individuals with chronic medical conditions and mental health issues.
My current position as a Psychologist and Behavioral Medicine Specialist is in the Adult Medicine Department at the Deer Valley Medical Offices at the Antioch Medical Center. My role as a Behavioral Medicine Specialist is to provide consultation, brief treatment, and referral to other resources and services as needed.
In my clinical work, I view my client as a whole person and a unique individual. My goal is to work collaboratively with each person to develop a therapeutic treatment plan to match each individual’s needs and to promote healthy behavior change. Depressive and anxiety disorders are common conditions that I treat. I have a special interest in working with individuals whose psychological well-being is negatively impacted by health issues, serious medical conditions, chronic illnesses, or chronic pain.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
