About Me

I came to Kaiser in 1987 as a fill-in therapist. I stayed at Kaiser because I support their vision of maintaining health, not just treating illness.

Another reason for staying with Kaiser is the emphasis on continuing education. I have developed many skills in areas such as handling techniques, screening techniques, and clinical reasoning which make me a much better therapist than when I joined Kaiser. An unexpected benefit of the continuing education offered through Kaiser was meeting and subsequently marrying one of the instructors. Not only did he expand and improve my practice as a therapist, but also he continues to keep me updated in the field of Physical Therapy, and be my lifelong partner in the adventure of love and family.

I graduated from Loma Linda University and hold a B.S. in Physical Therapy. My experiences prior to my employment at Kaiser were at various outpatient orthopaedic settings in the Los Angeles area.

Since I have been with Kaiser, I've continued primarily in the outpatient orthopaedic setting, but I have also been able to work with acutely ill, hospitalized patients, injured workers and in Primary Care. These varied settings have provided me a wide range of experiences from care of acute neurologic injuries (such as spinal cord injuries and brain injuries), to care of children, and the care of the chronically ill.

I've been appreciative of the scheduling flexiblity Kaiser has afforded me. This has allowed me to spend time with my children while they are young without having to give up my profession. My time away from work is rich in the mundane: walking children to school, helping them with homework, and teaching them how to ride a two-wheeler.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
