My Philosophy

I have a collaborative, practical, supportive, solution-focused style. I enjoy helping people develop the skills and strategies that will allow them to achieve their goals and feel better about themselves and their relationships. Together, we build upon strengths, and focus on plans to help overcome obstacles. My interest in psychology goes back to my growing up years in New York City, where I had the opportunity to meet a variety of people and hear many fascinating life stories. I believe that everyone has a unique story to tell. My professional training is in developmental, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioral treatment approaches.

My Work

I joined Kaiser Permanente's Outpatient Mental Health Department in 1992. I started out as a generalist, working with adults, children, and families. I am presently a member of the adult treatment team. I enjoy assisting people who have a variety of concerns, including life transitions, anxiety, depression, relationship and family problems, and stressful life events. I am actively involved in the Kaiser Permanente Depression Treatment Program. Before joining Kaiser Permanente , I worked at a family service agency and a university counseling center and I taught college courses in psychology. I value the opportunities that Kaiser Permanente provides for integrated care. I very much appreciate working with so many dedicated, talented professionals.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
