Welcome to My Home Page

Hello, and thank you for visiting my home page! My name is Dennis Kumata, and I am privileged to be a part of the Anesthesiology Department here in South Sacramento since 1993. I have enjoyed being a part of this excellent integrated health care system, where the physicians (of all specialties), medical facilities, and the health plan all work together to provide high quality health care to our patients.

This home page is intended to provide you information about me as well as provide you with health and anesthesia related information resources (handouts and web links). By selecting the links on the upper and left part of this page, you can request appointments, refill prescriptions, find health advice, learn about the healthy lifestyle programs, access the Healthwise Handbook or Health Encyclopedia.

To answer questions regarding upcoming surgery and/or anesthesia, please visit these sites ASA Patient Education and Learn More About Anesthesia. These informative resources should answer your questions regarding anesthesiology, planning for childbirth, surgery preparation, and provides a multitude of anesthesia related information.

About Me

I am a native Californian, and have spent the majority of my life here in Northern California, with time spent in Southern California, Washington, and in the Middle East. I received my undergraduate education at Cal Berkeley (Go Bears!), my medical education at USC (Go Trojans!), and internship and Anesthesiology residency at the Naval Hospital, Oakland (Go A's!).

Aside from working, I enjoy spending time with my wife and children. I also enjoy watching/coaching youth sports and trying to play inline hockey (a source of boundless entertainment for my family and others).

I firmly believe that humor does have a place in almost every aspect of one's life.

My Credentials

Medical school University of Southern California School of Medicine, Los Angeles, CA
Residency Naval Hospital, Oakland, CA
