Welcome to My Home Page!

I was raised in San Jose, California. I joined Kaiser Permanente Fresno to practice infectious disease in July 2001. I am board certified in internal medicine and infectious disease. I am also certified as an HIV specialist by the American Academy of HIV medicine.

I provide adult infectious disease care, including HIV services, in the clinic, the infusion center and the hospital. I am one of the personalization of care leaders for Kaiser Permanente in Fresno and have additional administrative responsibilities.

I have two daughters in elementary school and a very supportive husband. We enjoy spending time with family, reading, playing with our cats and gardening.

Practice Philosophy

I have a strong interest in patient and physician education. I like to work with my patients to diagnose their medical problems and come up with a plan to solve or control them. Communication in the exam room or the bedside is the key to many clinical situations. Patients often have an idea about what is causing their problem and the history, or story, of their illness often uncovers the source of this problem. Discussing the work-up, treatment and meaning of diagnoses with patients allows them to express their concerns and be active partners in their health and recovery.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
