My Biography

As a nurse at Kaiser Permanente, I feel like an acknowledged member of the health care team. Our Chronic Pain Center is less compartmentalized than it tends to be under other practice models. The atmosphere is a productive and patient-oriented one. A co-worker had recommended working here, citing the collaborative environment and the fact that Kaiser Permanente really takes care of its employees.

In my opinion, co-workers either make or break a workplace, and at San Francisco medical Center, I couldn’t ask for better colleagues. They are supportive, have a sense of humor, and all of us—physicians, nurses, medical assistants—operate in a teamwork environment. Our medical center encourages health maintenance, prevention, and proactive care. We offer many classes covering a full spectrum of interests, from the emotional to the physical.

I maintain a specific interest in the long-term effectiveness of procedures, especially radio frequency lesioning, the procedure that Genetics is trying to track more aggressively.

When I am away from the medical center, I enjoy walking on the beach, gardening, street fairs, shepherding my four kids to activities and joining them on their school field trips. To keep active, I try to exercise one hour each day, usually walking or running. I look forward to working with you at the San Francisco Medical Center.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
