this experience as pleasant, safe and pain free as possible. Our team of anesthesia providers help allay fears and provide the best of care. All questions and
concerns related to your anesthetic are welcome. We have a terrific group of dedicated and talented individuals who come together to plan and execute your
care.
About Me
I was born and raised in western Pennsylvania. After completing a year of liberal arts and language studies in Michigan, I returned to my home state to attend the
University of Pittsburgh where I completed my bachelor's of science in nursing. For several years, I remained in the area working in a renal dialysis unit
and then in a coronary care unit. Both experiences provided wonderful opportunities to learn about chronic and acute health care issues and to discover that I wanted to go further in my field. I then spent two years focusing on more in depth studies in cell biology and physiology. At that time, I was studying at the University of Maryland when I heard about The Johns Hopkins School of Anesthesia for Nurses. After
visiting the school and the hospital, I was hooked!
Anesthesia was fascinating in so many ways and it has continued to evolve both pharmacologically and with wondrous changes in technological monitoring. I
graduated from the Johns Hopkins program and worked there for 3 years. During that time I met my husband, married and moved to Washington D.C. For the next
several years, I administered anesthesia at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland where I was involved in many interesting experimental
surgeries and protocols. Before heading out to the Bay Area, I briefly returned to Hopkins for a few years giving anesthesia in all surgical areas. Since then
I’ve been in the bay area working at Kaiser Permanente, Walnut Creek with a group of wonderfully competent and great co-workers.
Outside of the professional arena, I am fortunate to have a wonderful family. My husband, son and I enjoy the sierra mountains skiing and hiking as often as
possible. Our most recent sports endeavor is scuba diving and we hope to travel and dive more in the next few years. Music, reading and gardening also play a
major part in my life.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
