Welcome, and thank you for visiting my home page.
I was born in Minnesota, but moved to Southern California at a very young age and grew up near Los Angeles. My parents, grandparents, and a big extended family of over forty people still live in California. After high school, I attended Yale University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry. I received my medical degree from Columbia University. During medical school I developed an interest in Health Policy, Management, and Research methods and also earned a Master of Public Health degree. I completed residency in Emergency Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City.
After many years of training in the northeast, I am glad to be back in California. I am recently married and live with my wife in the East Bay. I enjoy sports, particularly football, having played in high school. I also enjoy basketball, martial arts, reading, hiking, and keeping up with the latest electronic gadgets.
I aim to provide the best medical care and a positive experience for all of my patients.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
