My Biography

I came to Kaiser in large part to have the opportunity to collaborate with other professionals. Now that I am here, I am especially grateful to be part of such a cohesive and dedicated group of professionals, and to be challenged and exposed to cutting edge treatment approaches. I enjoy the diversity of my patient population and the opportunity to specialize in my field. In general, I find a very polished atmosphere here, together with a fine peer group.

My areas of special interest are in Parent/Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), intergenerational relationships, spirituality issues in counseling, family therapy, parenting issues, and group work. Currently, I run a group for parents of adolescents with eating disorders, and another teen group, which focuses on depression, anxiety, and social skills. The quality of group work at Kaiser is terrific and an obvious strength.

I am committed to incorporating the best-practice teaching model with the clients I see. I believe in collaborating with members and in applying a strength-based approach. In other words, I enjoy helping members use their pre-existing strengths to effectively manage life’s challenges. I also take into account a family’s background and convention, as well as their culture and spirituality.

I find several ways to stay healthy and thrive. I swim and exercise regularly. I have recently discovered the power of green tea and eating healthy snacks throughout the day. I observe the Sabbath, enjoy vacations when I can, and relish time with friends and family.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
