Welcome to my home page. This home page is designed to assist you in learning about physical therapy and to provide some brief descriptions and exercises for common musculoskeletal disorders.

As a native San Franciscan, I spent much of my childhood participating in youth and high school sports. This sparked my interest in exercise and human physiology. In 1990 I received my Bachelors degree in Pre-physical Therapy from San Francisco State University, and then I completed my Masters of Science in Physical Therapy at Boston University in 1993. Recently, I 've completed a year-long course in advanced manual therapy. Other areas of clincial interest are biomechanical analysis, evidence-base research and teaching. I am a member of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Prior to coming to Redwood City, I worked at a sports therapy clinic in Berkeley for 5 years. I joined Kaiser Redwood City in August of 1998. Currently, I work in the sports medicine clinic and the outpatient physical therapy department. I enjoy working at Kaiser because I am able to practice with independance and I have no pressure from insurance limitations. In my practice, I incorporate a combination of manual therapy with fuctional exercise training to promote mobility, flexibility and puposeful strength. In the sports medicine clinic I provide a comprehensive evaluation of each client and I encourage active participation to return each athlete to their highest level of performance.

When not caring for patients, I enjoy rock-climbing, mountain-biking, running and most of all, spending time with my young family.

An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
