My Specialty and Why I Chose It

I am a nuclear medicine physician. I see patients in thyroid clinic, treat patients with thyroid diseases with radioactive iodine and read thyroid scans. For my colleagues in various clinical specialties, I provide physiologic imaging/nuclear medicine services. I use radiotracers to image the body and help other doctors solve clinical problems. I decided to do this because I get to meet physicians in various specialties and help them solve problems. I get to use the latest imaging equipment, do "hi-tech" medicine and help get patients better.

My Practice Philosophy.

I believe in working with other physicians in a collaborative manner to help our patients. Kaiser Permanente is a great organization and allows me to work with my colleagues to get patients better. I believe that one has to know all the treatment options to be empowered to make good decisions about their body. I will present all the various options available and will let the patient decide.

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

I’ve been with Kaiser Permanente since 2007. I have the freedom to practice medicine the way I want. No one tells me what I can or can’t do. At the same time, I really value the availability of information I can get from my large group of colleagues that help me. One unique feature of Kaiser Permanente is physicians do not fight over each other to do the more lucrative procedures. We all work together to get the better outcome/result for the patient. It is a win-win situation for both the physicians and patients. The professional well-being of the physician also increases. The patient gets the best care possible.
