Why I Like Being a Physical Therapist
As an outpatient physical therapist, I specialize in treating patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal problems. As a physical therapist, I do my best to help patients restore function, reduce or relieve pain, prevent future injury, and focus on maintaining wellness through activity. In this specialty, I am given the time and resources necessary to help people improve their lives in many ways.
My Practice Philosophy
It starts with me listening to what you say and what you don’t say, watching how you move and how you don’t move, asking questions, evaluating how the involved and uninvolved areas are functioning and why they are not functioning, intervening with the appropriate joint or soft tissue mobilization, therapeutic technique, or strengthening or stretching exercise. It ends with you walking out of each appointment with a clear understanding of why you have this problem and what to do about it, including homework in the form of self-management techniques, activity recommendations, ergonomic or lifting mechanic modifications, and most importantly simple yet effective exercises. It is my job to recognize what you need, help you understand why, and teach you what to do…and it is your job to do it.

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente
After three years as an outpatient physical therapist in Birmingham, I returned home to Northern California in 1996 to begin a rewarding career with Kaiser Permanente at the South Sacramento facility. In early 1999, I transferred to join the Vacaville Medical Center’s team of exceptionally talented therapists. During my years here, I have been involved in several programs to enhance the care of our members. I worked alongside physicians in the Adult Primary Care module for many years, helped create and implement a lumbar spinal stabilization and education group, and currently provide manual therapy and exercise instruction in post-operative shoulder groups. I look forward to being involved with developing additional new programs to benefit current and future Kaiser Permanente patients for many years to come.

- We have a talented team of providers to provide the best care for our patients.
On a Personal Note
While not enjoying work, my passions in life are quality time with family and friends, the pursuit of biking, swimming, snowboarding, gardening, travel, chocolate, and frequently starting many a house and yard project…which eventually find completion.
