Hello and Welcome! I thank you for visiting my home page.

My Credentials

I completed my undergraduate degree in Physiology from the University of California, San Diego. Thereafter, I attended the Southern California College of Optometry and completed an additional year of residency training in primary care and low vision at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Palo Alto, California.

My Practice Philosophy

My philosophy of care is to care for everyone as if they are my family. I will do my best to solve your vision problems, and I will also stress the importance of having eye exams on a regular basis to detect any significant eye diseases as early as possible. I strive to provide comprehensive eye care and education so that you can maintain a healthy set of eyes and good vision.

Why do I want to be an Optometrist?

Perhaps I should have been a Veterinarian. I have had dogs, fishes, chickens, quails, parrots, rabbits, and guinea fowls as pets at one time or another when I was growing up. However, I enjoy working with people, and Optometry allows me to help people directly, so I found my calling.

I also find great joy in helping older people with impaired vision to see better with the aid of low vision devices. It costs a few dollars for the exam, and few more dollars for the devices, but it is priceless to be able to hear someone say “Doctor, I haven’t read for years and thank you for helping me read again!”

More About Me

When I am not at work, I enjoy selectively breeding tropical fish. It is amazing to see the genetic variability that can be produced from just one pair of fish! Another hobby of mine is curling, and the annual curling trip to Canada allows me to ski a few snow capped peaks at the same time. I am also very active with Girl Scouting, supporting their girl-scout cookie campaign year after year for the past decade. My favorite girl-scout cookie is Ginger Snaps.

PS: I am not able to purchase cookies while on the job.
