Welcome To My Home Page

My practice philosophy is what I tend to tell all of my patients and that is movement is your best friend. The more you move the better you will feel. And with my many years of experience I have seen that those people who are physically active, tend to feel better mentally and physically.

My true passion in Physical Therapy is getting people back to their regular activity whether it be back to work or back to training for a sporting event or to get someone interested in starting some exercise on a regular basis for life.

I like practicing at Kaiser because I have the ability to use all of my training without limitations and I have a great working relationship with the doctors and other providers I work with. The electronic medical record system, is a great tool to have, allowing easy access to patient’s pertinent diagnostic information within minutes vs. days, it has made communication with providers from other facilities so much easier, and it has made it easier for patients to contact me via email.

My professional interests are outpatient Physical Therapy (Occupational Medicine being a part of this wide scope). Personally I am a very active person who enjoys any activity with my family such as camping, hiking, kayaking, biking, basketball, baseball, volleyball. Running being one of my favorite things to do. I also enjoy volunteering at my boy’s school where I help teach Art and Physical Education.

My career in Physical Therapy started while obtaining my Bachelor’s degree, in Physical Education emphasis in Sport’s Medicine at Westmont College, in Santa Barbara, CA.. At that time I was a student Athletic Trainer working with injured athletes. After graduating (1986) I worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant – Athletic Trainer in an outpatient sports medicine clinic. In 1992, I continued my professional education and was accepted into Samuel Merritt College’s Master’s in Physical Therapy program. Upon graduating, I completed and internship at Kaiser Permanente and realized then that Kaiser was where I wanted to continue my profession. In 1997, I participated in the Folsom year-long manual therapy course which strengthened my hands-on therapy skills, as well as taking several mini courses throughout the years. The most rewarding parts of my practice are when patients walk out of the clinic feeling better than when they came in and reporting continued relief at their next visit. It is also exciting when someone who is not physically active realizes that just a few simple movement exercises or even just walking can ease their symptoms to many different injuries.
