My Biography

Originally from Hong Kong, I completed my medical school training in the United Kingdom. Upon graduating medical school I worked in several high risk obstetric units in London to further my training, and developed a strong interest in maternal fetal medicine.

After completing residency and fellowship training on the East Coast, I joined UCSF as a faculty member where I spent two years practicing as a perinatologist and worked closely with the Fetal Treatment Center.

September 2010 is when I joined Kaiser Permanente San Francisco. One of the attractions of working within the Kaiser Permanente system is that it allows me to focus my attention on patient care. At the same time, there is opportunity for resident and medical student teaching, which I always enjoy, and find extremely rewarding for everyone.

My training has given me a very broad perspective in the field of obstetrics. One of my special interests includes prenatal diagnosis. I’ve performed a wide range of prenatal procedures including CVS and amniocentesis in addition to handling other medical or surgical issues during pregnancy.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
