Hello and welcome to my homepage! Allow me to introduce myself. I am a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA) at Kaiser Hayward and Fremont. I work in the operating room at both locations, in addition to the labor and delivery suites. My job as a CRNA is to perform a pre-anesthetic interview, administer an appropriate and safe anesthetic, monitor all your vital signs, and ensure you recover from the anesthesia. I provide all types of anesthetics, including general, regional, and sedation. I have been with Kaiser Permanente since 2005.

I have also been active in educating future nurse anesthetists. I have served as the clinical coordinator for our nurse anesthesia residents at Kaiser Hayward/Fremont and have given lectures at Samuel Merritt University. Currently, I serve as a preceptor for nurse anesthesia residents.

I am originally from the East Bay Area. I have an undergraduate degree in Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior and a second undergraduate degree in Nursing. Additionally, I have a Masters of Science degree in Nursing, and am board certified in nurse anesthesia.

If you have any questions about your anesthetic on the day of surgery, please do not hesitate to ask and I will do my best to answer them to your satisfaction.

On a final note, it is my belief that nurse anesthetists are the best kept secret in the health care profession. If you are interested in learning more about CRNA's, I encourage you to visit the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists website at http://www.aana.com/.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
