Greetings and welcome to my home page. Thanks for your interest and taking the time to learn more about me and the Medical Treatment Unit at Kaiser Permanente.

My Specialty and Why I Chose It

I work in the Medical Treatment Unit and have the opportunity to focus on specific acute problems and concerns. These may include virtually all minor (and some not-so-minor) injuries and illnesses.

My Practice Philosophy

I feel that the primary responsibility of one’s health lies with the patient and I am your advocate and advisor. As such, I try to communicate the importance of personal responsibility in taking good care of one’s self and adhering to a good diet, regular exercise, smoke cessation and following your doctor’s preventive health care plans.

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

I have been with Kaiser Permanente since 1986. I started at South San Francisco Kaiser as a respiratory therapist then continued with Kaiser Permanente when my family moved to Sacramento. In 1995 I entered the Stanford Primary Care Program. After graduation, I was hired into the medical treatment unit in Sacramento Kaiser where I still work today.

Why I Like Practicing Medicine at Kaiser Permanente

I have worked with other healthcare organizations over the years and have grown to increasingly appreciate the high quality health care offered by Kaiser. The continual focus on quality of care and patient satisfaction and not merely cost is why I would never work anywhere else. I am free to practice the best care possible and always do what is in the best interest of the patient. I have experts in virtually all areas available by telephone for any questions I might have when faced with rare and or especially complex problems that I might see without the burden of needing some insurance company’s approval first. The technology, educational opportunities and support staff here at Kaiser Permanente makes our care second to none. I am happy to have my own family cared for by Kaiser Permanente.

On a Personal Note

My outside interests include travel, running, golf and photography. I plan to focus more on my latest interest, SCUBA this year.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
