Welcome to My Internet Home Page

I am happy to be a part of the Kaiser Permanente Tracy Health Education Department and hope that the information you find here will help you to live well, be well, and Thrive!

Why I do want to be a Clinical Health Educator (CHE)?

The reason I wanted to become a Clinical Health Educator was because I wanted to help people that were in need of change. Sometimes helping with the change process is not easy but when you help someone achieve a goal, there is nothing more rewarding!

Why did I choose to practice in Kaiser Permanente?

I have worked for Kaiser Permanente a total of five years; three years at the Division of Research in Oakland and going on two years here at the Tracy facility as a CHE. I feel that Kaiser Permanente is an organization that practices what it preaches. The whole "Thrive" slogan goes into all aspects of Kaiser Permanente. We have many different departments and programs that work together, why would you go anywhere else! Preventative medicine is alive and well here at Kaiser Permanente.

My Education and Training

I completed my undergraduate degree in 2001 from California State University, Fresno in Health Science with an emphasis in Community Health. I then graduated in 2003 from Touro University in Mare Island, CA with a Master degree in Public Health with an emphasis in Education.

My Philosophy of Care

"Everything good comes with a struggle" and "Treat those as you wish to be treated". Not necessarily a philosophy of care but something's that I live by and use in my visits with patients. I will try to help as best as possible or find you the right resources.

More About Me

I was born and raised in the Bay Area (the Tri-City Area). I grew up playing basketball and baseball my whole life, so this is something that I am still very passionate about, though not as active in as I would like to be now! I have really enjoyed learning and playing golf these past six years. It is a very difficult and challenging game that I wish I had more time and money to invest in. I have been married just over four years now. My wife and I are spending most of our spare time with our two young and very energetic boys. Being of Mexican-American decent I do speak some Spanish and I have a huge family that we see frequently in the Bay Area on the weekends.

Thank you for visiting my home page. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome and I look forward to seeing you.
