About Me
After obtaining my medical degree from the Hannover Medical School in Germany, I completed my residency at the University of Massachusetts, Worcester. I came to the beautiful Bay Area in 2005 to complete my fellowship in immunopathology at Stanford University. I fell in love with the food, culture, people and nature. Subsequently I received additional fellowships in hematopathology from Columbia University and in oncologic surgical pathology from Memorial Sloan-Kettering.
I joined the medical staff at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Oakland in 2009. I have enjoyed working with an excellent team of physicians. Kaiser exemplifies an outstanding model for providing progressive, high-quality health care with a focus on preventive, patient-centered care and patient satisfaction. My interests are in hematologic disorders, flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry. I work closely with hematologists and other clinicians to diagnose bone marrow, lymph node and blood disorders.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, hiking, running, reading, and traveling.
In addition to English, I speak German and French.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
