My Healthcare Practice

I am a hospital based physician (HBS) located at both the Roseville Eureka and the Morse Avenue Kaiser in Sacramento. This means that I take care of patients when they are admitted into the hospital, rather than seeing outpatients in the clinic. I chose to apply my internal medicine experience to the inpatient setting because I like seeing my patients every day until they are well enough to return home to their friends and families. It gives me a great sense of accomplishment to see the transformation from a very sick patient that I may admit from the emergency room to that same patient on the day of discharge feeling renewed and ready to go home.

I went into the medical field because I have always enjoyed making a difference in people’s lives, and helping to keep them healthy as a physician seemed the logical route. In addition to applying principles learned from scientific studies to guide care, I believe that so much of medicine can not be learned through books but through the human spirit. It is amazing the miracles that people can perform for themselves if only a caring physician is there to listen and provide them with moral support.

Practicing Medicine at Kaiser Permanente

I started here in 2004 and am looking forward to a lifelong partnership with Kaiser Permanente. Having been born at Kaiser San Francisco and a lifetime Kaiser Permanente member as a patient myself, I look forward to giving back to the foundation which has given me so much over the years. Now that I am a provider in the Kaiser Permanente system, I realize how easy Kaiser Permanente allows me to care for my patients through a well integrated interdisciplinary system with many resources we can turn to such as discharge planners, classes for patient education, and good follow up with primary physicians and specialists. I am very excited about my job and am greatly enthused by all the wonderful staff and patients with whom I work. As a patient, I was always extremely satisfied with my care and can remember all of my doctors that I have had at Kaiser Permanente from my pediatrician to my current family doctor, an amazing and esteemed physician who recently attended my wedding.

About Me

In regards to my personal history, I was born in San Francisco and then moved to the East Bay during grade school. I grew up in the East Bay and then stayed there for my undergraduate education at UC Berkeley, where I met my wonderful husband. Medical school brought me to George Washington University in Washington D.C. Then I went on to residency at UC Davis and finally to Kaiser Permanente for my current position. I enjoy spending time with my husband and our half-Pug and half–Chihuahua named Pup, traveling, reading, spending time with our friends and families, and just about anything active, especially snowboarding.
