Welcome to my home page!

Thanks for visiting my page. I hope you find this to be a useful tool in learning a little more about me and accessing reliable online health information. To the left are links that the Department of Physical Therapy wants to highlight for you as patients. You’ll also note there’s a Health Encyclopedia link, which you can use to do extensive searches on many medical topics.

About me

I chose to be a physical therapist because of my personal experience working with physical therapists. I found physical therapists to be caring and skilled at getting patients back to their prior level of function. Plus, the physical therapists seemed to really enjoy their work. I enjoy meeting people and working with them on achieving their functional goals. It is rewarding to see patients improve and get back to doing the things they like to do. Working for Kaiser Permanente, I benefit from my ability to network with many skilled physical therapists and managers on a daily basis, which ultimately benefits my patients. I really enjoy coming to work each day because everyone is professional and focused on getting patients better.

I try to get patients involved in their care and encourage them to set their own goals. I remind patients that I am here to assist them but ultimately each patient gets better through a lot of hard work. I enjoy working with geriatric patients in particular. In physical therapy school my major concentration was geriatrics. I am constantly amazed at the work ethic and determination that senior patients demonstrate.

Outside of working, I really enjoy fishing - freshwater, fly fishing, kayak fishing, deep sea, you name it and if it involves fishing I enjoy it! I go to Alaska every other year for a week with my father and three brothers for salmon fishing. I also like to mountain bike and enjoy being a spectator at sporting events.

My education and credentials:

Undergraduate Education BA in Psychology from Weber State University, Ogden, UT
Graduate Education MPT from Chapman University, Geriatrics Major Concentration, Anatomy Minor Concentration
Graduate Education MBA from Weber State University, Ogden, UT
Certification Certified Decongestive Therapy/Manual Lymph Drainage (CDT/MLD)
Membership American Physical Therapy Association

An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
