About me

Initially I went into college as a pre-medicine major. People that I met in college introduced me to physical therapy and it seemed to be a good fit for me. I enjoy the physical, hands-on work with patients and helping them progress to their maximal level of function. Most of the patients we see in our clinic are orthopedic outpatients. I have a special interest and certification in treating patients with hand injuries.

I feel that the patient and I work as a team to maximize their rehabilitative outcome. My biggest role is to do a thorough physical therapy evaluation to identify what physical therapies would benefit each patient for their unique circumstance. Together we decide on realistic goals and work towards attaining those goals. Much of physical therapy involves the physical involvement and work of the patient. I can appreciate the effort and difficulty that this can often present, so I focus on giving patients helpful tools to improve their physical well-being.

I love the people I have the opportunity to work with, both the patients and my coworkers. There is a wealth of knowledge and skill in our Kaiser Permanente team and I feel well supported by my supervisors in providing good care to my patients.

When not at work I enjoy spending a lot of time outdoors with friends and family doing a multitude of activities including skiing, camping, and tennis. Indoors I enjoy quilting and doing stained glass projects. Having two daughters involved with sports and dance, I have spent a lot of time with athletes and dancers. As a family, we have also spent several days working with Habitat for Humanity and look forward to continuing our work with them.

My education and credentials:

Physical Therapy Education BS from California State University, Fresno
Licensure Physical Therapy Board of California
Certification Handtherapist, Hand Therapy Certification Commission, INC
Advanced Training Orthopedic Manual Therapy, Australian Approach, Oakland, CA
Membership American Society of Hand Therapists

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
