About Me

Education: Stanford University, MA in Physical Therapy, 1981
Specialty: Specialist in evaluating and treating lymphedema.
Board Certification: Academy of Lymphatic Studies, MLD, 1999
Other languages: Spanish
Outside interests: gardening, swimming, spending time with my family

I have enjoyed working with a wide variety of patients since joining the rehab services department of Oakland Kaiser in 1987. I started working in the hospital in acute care setting, then moved to the outpatient clinic. I enjoy teaching as well as working with individual patients, and have helped develop and teach classes for breast cancer patients to restore early shoulder mobility, lymphedema education, and a urinary incontinence class for women. I am also a specialist in comprehensive decongestive therapy for lymphedema patients. As a supervisor in the outpatient clinic, I work with patients, other physical and occupational therapists in the department, and colleagues throughout the medical center to provide the highest quality care for our members.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
