Hello, and welcome to my home page! Thanks for visiting!

My name is Christopher Wan, and I've been a part of the Kaiser Family since July 2005. My wife and I moved here from Chicago, in order to raise our young child closer to family.

I was born in Bowling Green, KY (home of the Corvette!) and raised in Louisville, KY. I went to college and medical school down South at Emory Universtiy in Atlanta, GA, then moved up to Chicago to complete my residency in Emergency Medicine.

When I'm not working, I love spending time with my son, watching him grow and learn. It's amazing how quickly kids grow up! I heard an elderly man say once that the key to raising kids is "give them everything they need, some of what they want, and make them work for the rest". I hope to follow his advice in raising my own children.

I'm also into outdoor activities: biking, hiking, camping, skiing, and sea kayaking. I'm looking forward to taking advantage of all the great spots Northern California offers. It should be great.

In addition to working at Kaiser, I'm also interested in Public Health. I'm currently involved with CAMI (Childrens Aid Mission International). We organize medical teams to travel down to Guatemala and other Central American countries to provide free medical and surgical care. I and hope to get involved with more local endeavors soon.

Remember! Always buckle up when driving! Always wear a helmet when biking and skiing! Look both ways before crossing the street! Finally, remember "eternal vigilance" when working with any machinery -- that stuff is dangerous!

An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
