My Biography

I am originally from the East Coast, but I always wanted to live in the Bay Area. I chose to work at Kaiser Permanente so that I can concentrate fully on providing excellent care for my patients without running the business aspects of a medical practice.

It is a pleasure working in this department at the San Francisco Medical Center because of my great colleagues and staff and the supportive environment.

Anesthesiology attracted me as a medical specialty because it is procedure-oriented, but also requires outstanding patient care skills. Because anesthesiologists meet our patients right before they are going to have a procedure, we need to connect with them quickly in order to make them feel comfortable. In my practice, I provide anesthesia services for patients of all ages and all types of surgeries, from obstetrics to pediatrics to general surgery. My philosophy is to take good care of our patients and do whatever is needed for them.

Outside of work, my family keeps me grounded. I spend as much time as possible with them. Together we enjoy sports – both playing them and watching our favorite teams on television.

Undergraduate Education: BS in Biology, Tufts University
Professional Affiliations: American Society of Anesthesiologists; California Society of Anesthesiologists; San Francisco Medical Society
Began Practice: 2004
Joined Kaiser Permanente: 2004

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
