About Me

I was born in Taipei, Taiwan. Along with my family, I immigrated to the United States when I was 11 years old. I went to Stuyvesant High School in New York City. Following college at Brown University in Rhode Island where I majored in biology, I went to the medical school at Brown. Subsequently I completed a pediatric internship at the Schneider Children's Hospital in New York and finally completed my anesthesiology residency at University of California San Diego.

I joined Kaiser Permanente immediately following residency and have been proud to be practicing here since 1992. I enjoy working for Kaiser Permanente because it has always put improving patient care at the forefront of its goals. I enjoy practicing anesthesiology because we strive for complete patient safety and comfort, a goal that can be quite challenging.

I am happy to say that I can speak fluently and read Mandarin Chinese. Therefore, I can assist those of you who need translating. Outside of work, since I am married with two children, I do not have much free time. However, whenever possible, I enjoy jogging, hiking, and traveling.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
