Welcome to my home page. Please take the time to become familiar with my home page and use it as a resource for your healthcare needs.

My name is Dr. Cheryll Gallardo-Villena. As a child I had always wanted to help people. As I was growing up, I went to elementary and high school at a catholic school and received my undergraduate education at a famous catholic school run by the Jesuits in the Philippines. I was, therefore, exposed to several works of charity, sponsored by those schools, to help the poor, the sick, and the needy. I found it challenging and rewarding to help sick people get well, thus I pursued a career in medicine.

I graduated from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine, the most presitgious medical school in the Philippines. I completed my medical internship at the Philippine General Hospital. In the Philippines, I finished doing my residency in Internal Medicine and my fellowship in Cardiology. I went into my internship and then my residency in Internal Medicine at the Millard Fillmore Hospital, State University of New York at Buffalo, in Buffalo, New York. Afterwards, I joined the Permanente Medical Group in 1998 as the first hospital based specialist for Kaiser Permanente in the Stockton and Manteca areas.

I specialize in the care of patients who are in the hospital. I love my job as a hospitalist. My role is to treat, oversee, and coordinate the care of patients with the other team members, while in the hospital. I joined Kaiser Permanente because it is a stable and well managed organization which aims at providing quality care and service to patients. Patients are treated with dignity and respect and the physicians have autonomy in clinical decision making. Specialty services, as well as ancillary, are readily accessible.

About Myself

Having married a United States citizen, I moved to the United States to start a family. I have two children and in my free time, I play the piano and love organizing family albums. I love traveling to places, locally or abroad with my family. I also enjoy exercising, particularly walking with one of our three dogs.

My Philosophy of Care

Patients should always be treated with respect as though they are part of the family.
