About Me

I chose to work at Kaiser Permanente because it is recognized nationally as providing great health care. The Kaiser Permanente system provides for easy access to multiple services and specialties. I was also interested in participating in research and was intrigued by the opportunities provided by Kaiser Permanente. As one of the largest health care facilities, there is an array of educational opportunities. Kaiser Permanente also recognizes the importance balancing your career with life outside of work.

I began working at Kaiser Permanente in the occupational medicine department in Oakland on a temporary basis. I was impressed by the supportive staff and other clinicians and continued to work in the department on regular basis. The department promotes teamwork and mutual respect. Based on these reasons and more I decided to pursue a career at Kaiser Permanente.

I have a background in Internal medicine, but decided to pursue a career in preventive medicine as I believe people can be empowered to play an important role in their own health care and prevent many serious illnesses. Working with the people in the occupational medicine arena presents a unique opportunity to educate people on how to work safely and promote general health and well-being.

I treat a wide range of injuries in my practice. I enjoy helping patients return to functional and healthy lifestyles. My special interests are injury prevention and health maintenance. I participate in research activities at the University of California, San Francisco ergonomics program designing tools and equipment to allow people to work safer.

Some of my outside interests are photography/videography, participating in sports and travel. I especially enjoy documenting different cultures with my camera.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
