About Me
As a licensed clinical social worker, I have worked in a variety of settings. I chose the field of Social Work to understand human behavior. I believe everyone, with the right resources, has the ability to make positive changes if they choose to. I joined the Kaiser Permanente family in 2004. I enjoy working with a multi-disciplinary staff where everyone has defined roles and responsibilities in patient care. As an Early Start Specialist I get the opportunity to have significant impact on infants, mothers and families. The objective is to educate mothers on the risks of using tobacco, drugs and alcohol while pregnant.
I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers. I am particularly interested in educating the public and other disciplines about the true nature of Social Work. It is particularly important, to me, in the medical setting for other disciplines to have a true understanding of the social worker’s role in a non-traditional social work setting.
I’m originally from Southern California. I can’t say I don’t miss the sun shiny days and smog. I have enjoyed the Bay area’s diversity and array of tasty foods. I am married to a smart, and I almost forgot, pleasing to the eye man. We have two children, Michelle and Donald, (also known as D.J). We enjoy traveling, attending cultural events, concerts and spending time with family and friends.
