Welcome to my Home Page!

In addition to English, I also speak Spanish (Yo hablo espanol).

My Interests

  • While I enjoy all aspects of my work in the Chemical Dependency department, I have special interests in dual diagnosis, ongoing recovery issues, and treatment of alcoholism and drug abuse among Latinos.
  • When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time hiking, traveling and cooking.

My Philosophy of Care

I believe that attaining and maintaining mental health should be a collaborative process between a patient and physician and/or mental health provider. You are an expert on your own life experiences, symptoms, previous experiences with mental health treatment, and what has worked well for you to maintain your mental health in the past. The professional with whom you work brings his or her expertise on various forms of mental health treatment, and together with you determines the treatment, or combination of treatments that may work best for you.

My Credentials

Professional School: Baylor University, Waco, TX
Internship: Napa State Hospital, Napa, CA
Internship: KPMC Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic, Pleasant Hill, CA
License: LICENSE PSYCH (PSY19854)

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
