Welcome to My Home Page!

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) working in the Adult Chemical Dependency Program at the Kaiser Permanente Martinez off-site facility located in Pleasant Hill. I have been licensed as a MFT since 2003. However, I began working in the field of addictions years before. I have always been drawn to the work of counseling. I began counseling as a peer counselor in High School. From there all venues in which I worked dealt with some form of counseling. The field of addiction work chose me. I come from a familial background of addiction. While I focused on other areas of counseling while studying, I always returned to addiction work. My work began with chemical addictions but has grown to encompass other forms of addictions such as codependency and other behavioral addictions. I work with individuals in their own addictions as well as family members of addicts.

While working with addictions is challenging, due to the nature of not having a “cure”, I find the work very rewarding. Being able to aid an individual in changing the course of their life for the positive, to be able to instill hope where little existed is a blessing. Kaiser allows me to work in an environment where I can easily consult with the other providers a patient may have in order to provide holistic and encompassing health care.
