My Specialties

I am a clinical neuropsychologist specializing in pediatrics. I see children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of medical, genetic, and developmental conditions such as epilepsy, neurofibromatosis, traumatic brain injury, brain tumors, and other conditions which affect the way the brain functions. Through non-invasive testing, a clinical neuropsychologist assesses things like intellectual functioning, academic skills, attention, memory, visual-perception and construction skills, and executive functions such as problem solving, reasoning, and inhibition. My goal is to help individuals live more productive and satisfying lives by providing them with tools to compensate for their weaknesses, capitalize on their strengths, and maximize outside resources from which they may benefit.

In addition to this, I run the Youth Sports Concussion Program which provides concussion education, and baseline and post-injury cognitive testing to middle and high school athletes playing high risk sports. To learn more, see the links to the left.

I am also the Director of Training for our neuropsychology postdoctoral program. For more information about this program, please visit our website at Residency Program

My Practice Philosophy

I believe strongly in prevention, early intervention, and providing individuals and families with knowledge and the tools needed to apply that knowledge. I am committed to the training of new neuropsychologists to further advance our field and continue to develop Kaiser Permanente's program.

My Qualifications

Graduate Program: Pacific Graduate School of Psychology

Fellowship: University of California Davis Medical Center, Department of Neurology

Board Certification: Board Certified in Clinical Neuropsychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

I have been a part of Kaiser Permanente since 2005. I really appreciate that Kaiser Permanente’s administration allows me the autonomy to practice in the way that I feel I can provide the best care to our patients. They have also been very supportive of new initiatives that improve patient care for underserved populations. They support ongoing education, are leaders in information technology, and promote collaboration among disciplines.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
