Welcome to my Home Page!

As a child I knew two things - I loved the idea of teaching people, which I believe is the ability to share ideas and knowledge in a way that provokes curiosity and promotes learning. I also loved the art of Medicine and Health. When it came time to attend college and to decide what I wanted to do in life, I searched for a way to include all of the things I loved – teaching, health and medicine. The answer of course was Health Education!

I obtained both my bachelors and masters degree's from California State University, Hayward. My undergraduate degree is in Health Science with an emphasis in Health Education and Health Promotion. My graduate degree is in Health Care Administration with a dual emphasis in Wellness and Management and Change. Away from work, I love spending time with my son, reading, and enjoying time with friends.

Recommendations

I encourage you to become an active participant in your health & wellness. This means being an active partner along with your health care team when it comes to making medical and health decisions. It also involves striving towards a healthy lifestyle, which includes eating right and enjoying physical activity everyday as well as reducing the stress in your life. I encourage you to join me on the journey to health & wellness.

An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
