About Me

Hello, my name is Caroline Rankin. I am an optometrist. An optometrist diagnoses vision problems and eye disease, prescribes eyeglasses and contact lenses, and prescribes drugs to treat eye disorders. Prior to my employment with Kaiser Permanente, I worked at Wolfe Clinic PC in Marshalltown, Iowa for two years. I was the only optometrist in a group of ophthalmologists. I provided primary eye care, emergency eye care, and specialty contact lens fittings.

I enjoy being directly involved with my patients and getting to know them individually. It is very rewarding to see the positive impact I can make in someone’s life.

Why I Like Practicing at Kaiser Permanente

I think one of Kaiser Permanente’s greatest strengths is its emphasis on preventative care. Since working for Kaiser Permanente, I have been very impressed by the proactive philosophy that exists among the caregivers and support staff.

On Personal Note….

I only work part-time for Kaiser Permanente. My fulltime job is being mom to my two young children. I love the flexibility that Kaiser Permanente allows me to have so I can dedicate myself to my family as well as my job.
