My Biography

I came to San Francisco to complete my medical education, and I liked the climate and natural beauty of this diverse, cosmopolitan city. Kaiser Permanente attracted me because of its all-inclusive health care philosophy. I don’t have to worry about which plans cover which types of care or deal with the business aspects of care, benefits that I consider to be a huge plus. I am at liberty to provide care without my perspective being biased or skewed by financial concerns. One of the things that gives me the most satisfaction in my practice is that I get to deal with many different cultures.

We have highly talented doctors at San Francisco Medical Center, and we are all a very integrated group; I can obtain two or three opinions or referrals in an expedient manner. Within my own department, I work with a collegial group of competent, talented, and extremely skilled urologists, and I have easy access to specialty referrals. In terms of my practice, I am interested in all of the various facets of urology.

When I am away from the office, I like windsurfing, skiing, and playing tennis. I keep healthy by working out and bicycling regularly. I have a wife and two daughters, and I view being on good terms with my family as one of the healthiest ways to thrive!

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
