On June 4th, 2012 I will be moving to a new facility which will be located at 1263 E. Arques Ave, Sunnyvale, CA 94085. It's only 4 miles northeast of our current Santa Clara Kaiser Drive Medical Offices and offers ample free parking. I'm hoping that my patients and families that I've come to know so well will follow me to our new facility.

I was born in San Mateo, California as the eldest child of immigrant parents from Holland. I grew up in Milpitas with my two younger sisters and brother, who remain close and still live in the Bay Area. I received an Associate of Science degree in Nursing from Ohlone College of Fremont in 1986. I held a position as a staff nurse for three years at the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center working in the Maternity, Nursery, and Pediatrics Department while attending San Jose State University, where I completed the requirements for a Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing in 1989. I then began a position in the Labor and Delivery Department at Kaiser Santa Clara as a Staff and Charge Nurse. Feeling a need for further education and challenge, I completed the OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner Program at the Education Program Associates in Campbell, California in 1996. I hold a Master of Science degree in Nursing from Regis University, Denver, Colorado, and am clinically certified in Women’s Health.

I have been working at Kaiser in my role as a Nurse Practitioner since 1996. I have always had an interest in the study of Infertility, so after 10 years providing Women’s health care, when the opportunity arose I joined the department of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. I hope to help many people to realize their dream of the joys of parenthood.

I grew up as a competitive swimmer, and had aspirations for the Olympics, but didn’t quite get that far and ended my swimming career at 18 years old. These days I keep in shape with the Master’s swim program and distance running. I also enjoy all water sports- water and snow skiing, and scuba diving. I love to travel and have explored the warm waters through the Caribbean and Central America. Between travel vacations I find fun in gardening, cooking for family and friends, and spending time with my son.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
