About Me

One of the reasons I pursued a career in medicine is because I have always enjoyed studying science. The field of pathology is broad and requires a dedicated interest in learning, as it encompasses all disease processes involving tissues and organs of the body. It is the variety of infectious, inflammatory, and neoplastic (tumor) conditions that I find the most interesting aspect of my job.

I enjoy working in the kind of integrated delivery system that Kaiser Permanente embraces, which allows me to work closely with other physicians in treating patients. Our information technology systems enable me to obtain clinical and radiographic information necessary for accurate diagnoses. A broad range of diagnostic tests and tools allow me to be thorough with every specimen I evaluate.

Although I was born on the East Coast, I consider myself “California grown”. I was raised in the Concord and Clayton areas with my two brothers and attended local elementary and high schools. Most of my free time is spent with my husband, children, and extended family in the San Francisco Bay Area. I enjoy working on home projects, gardening, and staying physically active to try and keep up with my two young boys.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
