I am honored and yet humbled that you would take the time to visit my home page. My name is Bryce Tanner, and I have worked for Kaiser Permanente as an Emergency Physician since 1988. As you can probably imagine, life in the Emergency Department has both good and bad days as many of life’s miracles and tragedies play out here.

My most valued and treasured possessions in life are my wife and six children. I met my wife Roberta in 1975 and we were married in 1980. She is the joy of my life and my best friend. I owe a great debt of gratitude to her parents for raising a lady as wonderful as her. I hope that I will always be worthy of her love and admiration.

My hobby is being a parent and being involved in the lives of our six children, Megan, Jennifer, Kathryn, Jason, Bethany and Christina. I thank God everyday for blessing me with such a wonderful family. They give purpose and meaning to my life.

My interest in Emergency Medicine began in 1984, as a medical student. I experienced first hand, while working in an emergency department, the rewards and satisfaction giving relief and comfort to those in pain or suffering an illness. Because of the nature of acute illnesses and injuries, many people from all walks of life find themselves in an emergency department when they least expect it. I have learned how fragile and yet precious life is as it can all change in a brief moment. Many of life’s unanswered questions seem to surface during these especially troubling circumstances. My faith and trust in God, the master physician, is what gets me through these difficult and sometimes emotional times.

My desire everyday is to make a difference in somebody’s life – to leave them better than I found them and to lift and encourage those in need. I do not take my responsibility to you lightly. I value the relationships and interactions that I have with the patients I meet. I hope and pray that I may be worthy of your faith and confidence.

Have a blessed day!

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
