My Biography
I majored in mathematics and the physical sciences until graduate school, when I became interested in the functioning of the brain. This led me to a more general interest in physiology, and finally to a special interest in breathing: the mechanics of the lungs and the drive to breathe. It seemed a natural extension of this interest to enter the practice of anesthesiology.
My 12 years at San Francisco General Hospital were devoted to the training of new practitioners in our specialty, and to the care of trauma victims. In 2002 I transferred my practice to Kaiser Permanente. As I am a patient as well as a physician at Kaiser Permanente, I am dedicated to the emphasis our organization places on excellence of patient care and service.
