Welcome to my home page!

I view this as an excellent opportunity to introduce myself and to provide links to online resources that I believe that are reliable. Please feel free to explore the links to the left for information related to physical therapy. If you’re interested in doing a more broad or general search for medical information, I recommend the Health Encyclopedia.

About me

I had a personal experience as a patient in Physical Therapy after injuring my lower back playing baseball. I was so impressed with the rehabilitative process and how much the physical therapist involved me in my own care and empowered me to help myself through an understanding of my injury based on a scientific foundation. That experience influenced my decision to become a physical therapist myself.

I like the fact that I can help others by empowering them to reach their own, full healing capacity through training, education, rehabilitation, and the application of understanding. My philosophy is to treat people first, injuries second. Similar injuries require similar approaches but usually care needs to be personalized to the uniqueness of the patient. One thing I really enjoy about working at Kaiser Permanente is being able to partner with competent colleagues who share the same philosophical approach to treatment, where evidence and logic support the direction of care.

My background in Sports Medicine with an undergraduate degree in athletic training supports my ongoing philosophy of rehabilitation as a Physical Therapist. I still enjoy the challenge of athletic rehabilitation and sports performance. I have a special interest in orthopedics, biomechanics, and the applications of manual therapy.

My hobbies include enjoying the company of my family, reading, researching, bicycling, golfing, taking walks and hikes, music, computers, and, last but not least, the Golden State Warriors.

My Education and Credentials

Undergraduate Degree AB, Physical Education/Athletic Training, San Diego State University
Physical Therapy Education MPT, College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, Pomona
License PT, Physical Therapy Board of California
Membership American Physical Therapy Association

An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
