My Biography

After completing my residency training in the Bay Area, I knew I wanted to continue living and working here in San Francisco, a city I love. I chose Kaiser Permanente San Francisco so I would have the opportunity to meet and care for people from within and around my own community, and to be involved with a very unique and diverse patient population.

Within the exciting, challenging and dynamic field of Emergency Medicine, my special interests include medical education, international medicine, and emergency ultrasound. Working as an Emergency Medicine physician allows me to treat a very broad range of health problems and injuries on a daily basis, and provide support to patients and families during very stressful times.

I believe the best aspects of Kaiser Permanente’s health care model are continuity of care, ease of communication with one’s health care provider, access to health care resources, and the emphasis on individual well-being and a healthy lifestyle. The Kaiser Permanente model takes an integrated approach to the care of patients and is unique and extremely beneficial as it encourages all practitioners to work together as a team to optimize each patient’s care.

Outside of work, in order to stay healthy, I exercise regularly by trail running, mountain biking, and surfing, and I make an effort to eat healthy. I also enjoy reading, traveling, being outdoors and spending quality time with my family and friends.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
