Introduction

Welcome and thank you for visiting my home page. I hope that you find this information interesting and useful. I knew from an early age that I wanted a career that involved helping people. In college, my love for anatomy and physiology classes got me thinking that I would like to pursue a career in the medical field. An injury sustained while doing gymnastics brought me first hand into contact with the physical therapy profession as I worked with therapists to rehabilitate from my injury. Through interacting with my physical therapists, I decided that Physical Therapy was the profession I wanted to pursue.

Background

I graduated from San Jose State University with a B.S. in Kinesiology in 2005. I attended graduate school at Samuel Merritt University and, in 2009, I graduated with a DPT in Physical Therapy. Outside of work, I enjoy yoga, gymnastics, sports acrobatics, reading, hiking, theater/ballet, pets (particularly cats and dogs), and going to jazz concerts.

My Interests

My interests within the field of Physical therapy include orthopedics and sports medicine. My personal interests include yoga, reading, hiking, theater/ballet, gymnastics, sports acrobatics, jazz concerts, and cats.

Recommendations

I recommend that you see Physical Therapy as a partnership with your Physical Therapist. Your outcome will be much better if you take an active and participatory role in your physical therapy right from the beginning. I also encourage you to ask questions. If you do not understand an instruction, explanation, etc, then let your physical therapist know. You will be in a much better position to manage your health if you know what’s going on! I also feel that leading an overall healthy lifestyle will also help to improve your outcome. So, eat your 5 fruits and vegetables a day, get regular exercise, do your best to lower your stress level, and schedule regular visits with your doctor.
