My Biography

The care provided at San Francisco Medical Center is top-notch and both the providers and administration are always trying to improve the care experience for patients. Kaiser Permanente is committed to improving the care of transplant patients and our Nephrology Specialty department has knowledgeable, caring staff. I feel privileged to work here.

Health promotion and preventative care is very important to Kaiser and should be a priority for the patients, as well. Our comprehensive, integrated health care model facilitates both curative and preventive aspects of care. We encourage patients to be proactive and become participants in their own care.

One of the aspects of my work I enjoy most is having opportunities to interact with regional staff. My colleagues are also wonderful, dedicated people who are committed to delivering optimal care for our members. Areas of particular importance to me include new research concerning transplantation, quality-of-life issues for transplant patients, and cancer surveillance.

I THRIVE through exercising five to six days per week, and taking walks with my dogs. I make a huge effort to eat healthy meals, pesky snacks not withstanding! I like to dance, especially the lindy hop and balboa. I’m taking classes in French and photography, and I spend a great deal of time with my grandsons.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
