I pursued a career as a psychologist because I wanted to help people. I decided to further specialize in neuropsychology because I wanted to attain a more sophisticated understanding of how what happens in our brains translates into actual emotions and behavior. Being a rehabilitation neuropsychologist allows me to uniquely pursue both of these goals. I conceptualize health and well-being from a biopsychosocial and mind-body perspective. Forming a strong, genuine connection is an essential element of any successful adjustment/healing process and therapeutic relationship. Thus, it is important to me that I make an effort to get to know the unique backgrounds of my patients and their families so that I can provide them with the best possible care.

As a Rehabilitation Neuropsychologist at Kaiser Foundation Rehabilitation Center, I am responsible for conducting a range of activities including testing evaluations, individual psychotherapy, research, staff consultation, and patient/family education. I enjoy the degree of responsibility and autonomy that I have and the unpredictability of a given day. It is wonderful to work in a positive atmosphere as a valued member of a multi-disciplinary team. I like the mystery involved when evaluating complex cases and the surprise of unexpected findings.

Professionally, I have a strong interest in traumatic brain injury, multicultural issues in psychology, and conversion disorders. My personal interests include writing/recording original music, singing, and playing guitar and tabla (classical Indian drums).
