Welcome. I'm Dr. Bradford Wong, PT, DPT, OCS with the Physical & Occupational Therapy Department at the Redwood City Medical Center. Let me tell you a little bit about myself.

I grew up in the Bay Area. I received my Bachelors degree from the University of California at Berkeley in 1992 and completed a Masters of Physical Therapy degree at the University of Southern California in 1994. After working several years in inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient private practice, I went on to obtain a Doctorate in Physical Therapy at USC in 1999. I am also board certified in Orthopedic Physical Therapy.

I have completed a one-year post-graduate fellowship in orthopedic physical therapy and am an active member in both the American Physical Therapy Association and the Orthopedic Section of the APTA. I have done assistant teaching in USC’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program and have been involved in clinical research there. I joined Kaiser Permanente in September of 1999 where I specialize in orthopedics and adult primary care. As the clinical specialist here in the Physical Therapy Department, I enjoy doing research, mentoring students and colleagues, and providing staff education.

Having grown up playing various sports, I incorporate exercise and sports into my treatment program. I also implement manual therapy techniques which I have learned through ongoing training. My goal is to not only improve a patient's function but to encourage self-management. I try to empower the patient to be proactive in their rehabilitation. I believe Kaiser offers an environment in which I can practice these treatment ideals in an autonomous way.

When not caring for my patients, I enjoy playing golf and basketball and am an active member at my church. One of my greatest joys, however, comes from spending time with my wife and family.

Please use this web page to better understand who I am and how I like to practice. You will also find links to what Physical Therapy is, exercise regimens, and helpful health education information.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
