EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

After finishing high school in Hawaii and a stint in the US Navy, I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and a Registered Nurse license at Biola University, La Mirada, CA in 1981.

My graduate work was at California State University, Long Beach, CA where I earned a Masters degree in Nursing and obtained a license as a Nurse Practitioner in 1988.

I started with Kaiser Permanente in 1992. I went back to California State University, Long Beach in 1998, and was certified in Family Practice in 2001. I came to Northern California Kaiser Permanente in 2002.

I work in Geriatric Skilled Nursing Facility because the elderly deserve the best of care, and working with them is very rewarding.

Everyone deserves the best of medical and nursing care, and as a Nurse Practitioner, I can effectively deliver both to my patients. I believe all humans have priceless intrinsic value and I attend to them with this in mind, regardless of their health or mental state.

About Me

I grew up on the Island of Kauai, and joined the US Navy after that. After settling in California, I completed my education here and began working for Kaiser Permanente in 1992. I enjoy traveling, computers, baseball, basketball, and spending time with my wife and our three children.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
