My Biography
I chose to work at Kaiser Permanente because it is a model that provides excellent and efficient medical care that is truly patient focused. After completing anesthesia residency, a fellowship in critical care medicine, and practicing as an anesthesiologist and intensivist at UCSF, I found that I was ready to transition from academic medicine to an environment where I could be solely dedicated to patient care. Being in a diverse practice like Kaiser Permanente allows me to continually learn from my patients and many accomplished colleagues while at the same time applying the training I have acquired to caring for the patient as a whole.
As an anesthesiologist, I have the opportunity to care for a variety of patients, both in and out of the operating room, undergoing many different types of procedures, from labor and delivery in the obstetrical suite to orthopedic and vascular procedures in the operating room. My main responsibilities are to ensure the patients’ safety during the entire perioperative period, and to help alleviate any anxieties they may have about their upcoming surgery. Depending on the operation, I may administer any number of different anesthetics, such as epidural, regional or general anesthesia, to enable patients to undergo their procedure and to maximize their comfort in the postoperative period.
In my time away from work, I love to hang out with my husband and kids, take my twin girls on long runs in the park, and cook for my family and friends.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
