Welcome
I was born and raised in Palo Alto. I then attended college at Oberlin College in Ohio. After several years of medical school at Chicago Medical School, I was fortunate to stumble on the field of radiation oncology. I knew instantly that it was the field for me. The technical nature of the field, combined with the close involvement in patient care was very appealing. Also important was the necessity of close interaction with other physicians in providing the best multimodality care, allowing for interchange of ideas. My particular areas of interest include pediatric cancers and cancers of the head and neck.
After completing residency at UCSF, I came to work with Kaiser Permanente. In my practice, I strive to provide the best care available in an enviornment that is as comfortable and relaxing as possible. I am well aware that undergoing cancer treatments is stressful and unpleasant, and work hard to migitate the ill effects of treatment. My staff and I are aware of the needs of patients and make every effort to accomodate people in every way possible. My standard is to deliver the kind care that I would want my loved ones to receive, both in terms of technology and skill, and in compassion and understanding.
Working with Kaiser Permanente allows me to devote all of my energy to patient care. The integrated care delivery system and computerized health records can greatly improve both the quality of care and efficiency with which care can be delivered. I truly enjoy the high level of interaction and teamwork that exists among the physicians in KP. As a long-time Kaiser patient, I have seen the high level of care that is delivered and am proud to be a part of the medical group. I hope that this web site helps to answer any questions you might have.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
